Pre History
Pre history (6500000-1000 BC)
The artifacts from this time period can date back as far as 6.5 million years ago but a lot of them are from more resent times. People back then might not have modified things a whole lot and just used things that they found in nature as that found it like a log as a bench or a stone as a table. tools that we have found in this time period appear that they were made with intentional design it makes you think that people back this cared about how things looked and not just did they work or not. The stone ages can be split in to 2 groups Paleolithic (6500000-9000 BC) and Neolithic (9000-2000 BC) also included in pre history is the bronze age (4000-1000 BC)
Paleolithic
during the Paleolithic time period there were these caves in Lascaux France these caves were covered in paintings and engravings of animals and symbols.
Neolithic
during the neolithic period they built with a lot of stone. their homes were made with it and they had a lot of natural furniture built into them for example holes were turned into shelves for storage. also in this time period the stonghenge were built they are still standing today being visited by a bunch of tourists every day they are considered one of the wonders of the world.

You made an interesting point about how these ancient people used objects in nature but still were intentional about aesthetics in order to create beautiful and functional designs.
ReplyDeleteI like how you broke down the prehistoric period into Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age. The note about people using natural objects like logs and stones as furniture was a great detail.
